My Presentation

I chose to do my presentation on trees and what all they can do for us. I couldn't believe how many items we actually get from trees. I guess I just never really thought about it before. I think children would be interested in this. I certainly was. So here is my presentation.

Thoughts About Blogging

I thought it was a good idea to do the blogging with the ffith grade students. I learned that these students do very well with writing or blogging on the computer. They were able to post their opinions as well as comment on our pages and our comments to them. I would probably use some sort of blogging with my students. Probably not a long term project on blogging but something to get them used to it and able to understand what goes on with it. I had done nothing with blogging until this class and technology will be even more advanced by the time I have my own class. They will need the experience and understanding of blogs to get through and succeed in some of their classes and just everyday life.

Here is the original Star Power
and here is my version that I changed, Stars, Stars

CSO for Scratch

The CSO that this scratch game would cover would be for geometry. M.S.G.3 is the CSO. It's description:Through communication, representation, reasoning and proof, problem solving, and making connections within and beyond the field of mathematics, students will
· analyze characteristics and properties of two- and three-dimensional geometric shapes and develop mathematical arguments about geometric relationships,
· specify locations and describe spatial relationships using coordinate geometry and other representational systems,
· apply transformations and use symmetry to analyze mathematical situations, and
· solve problems using visualization, spatial reasoning, and geometric modeling.

Scratch Game

The scratch game that I like is a math one. It is called Star Power. This game allows the student to change the size, color, and number of points a star has. This will give them the chance to see how exactly changing these things changes the actual star.
